"I don't live in Howth but often make the trip out, with the sole intention of visiting this place. Initially it's a strange combination Aussie/Italian cafe, but it works. Really tiny, but so cosy and welcoming. You will always hear a chorus of "ciao" when you leave and the staff enjoy interacting with customers. Good coffee. Nice wine by the glass or bottle. Nice selection of antipasti platters and paninis too. You might feel like a stranger when you walk in the door, but will feel like you've been friends for years by the time you leave."
"I moved to Howth from the heady atmosphere of Marin County, California. One from Marin County could easily go into shock if presented with a non-conforming latte, or even worse, insolence from a server. No worries here. Competence and friendliness abounds. The pannini are intriguing, with their Aussie handles. My favorite is the Melbourne. I may see you there, as I visit nearly every day. I am the tallest person in the shop. "The Yank".
Il Panorama Cafe is a jewel in the crown of Howth. Had it been here in 900AD, the Vikings would be speaking Italian I am sure. I give it a big thumbs up for good coffee, fresh pastries, lovely pannini and charm.
"This is a treasure of a cafe over looking the harbpour of Howth. Although it is small, there is enough seating both inside and outside (very handy in warmer weather). They do gorgeous food here especially the bruschetta and the coffee is fantastic. It is owned by an Italian and Australian, and they are a great duo, very friendly to customers which is porbably why they have a lot of regular clients. It is handy to know that the cafe opens til 12.30 pm on a Saturday so it's great for late coffees!"
"authentic little cafe"
"This little gem is one of my favourite cafes around. It doesn't look much from the outside, but has the real feel of a rural Italian cafe with it's very limited space, Italian music and wooden interior. I went in for a coffee, but ended up staying there reading for hours with a delicious panini and americano, then some bruschetta and a glass of the recommended red of the week. Very reasonably priced and, if you can get a seat, a great place to spend an afternoon. Added benefits are that it's right on the Harbour Road, the staff are cool and they offer FREE WIFI! They also sell some things like biscuits, coffee, olive oil, wine etc."
"Excellent pizza and wine"
"Very casual, local type of place. It is basically a wine bar that now offer very good pizza at a reasonable price. It is tiny, but we always manage to get a stool There are no tables, its basically just a bar and ledges that you can eat at. Always has a great atmosphere, and is very much a local hangout. We return here again and again."
"Excellent for coffee, snacks or glass of wine"
"This place was my favourite place when I was living Dublin! After a nice walk in Howth, or after a long day of work, it was the perfect place for me to relax! The staff is very friendly and professional. They have the best cappuccino in Dublin! And I tried them all! They have delicious panini as well. But what I highly recommend is a glass of the selection wine and a plate of ham and cheese that they serve with fresh bread, olive oil, black pepper, fresh rocket and balsamic cream! Delicious! I leave now in Zurich, and I still didn't find a place that has the same atmosphere and good quality of food and drinks. The only problem is that the cafe is quiet small, so might not find free table!"
